Why Israel?

Israel is a world leader in green technology and 21st century ecological innovation. Whether you are interested in living on a self-sufficient eco-farm, interning at a renewable energy startup, studying sustainable development, or learning about water conservation, you will find a way to branch out to the new green economy in Israel.

Israelis have dealt with water shortages and environmental issues since the founding of the state. Israeli companies have the knowledge and know-how to contribute to the international community, making them ideal for gaining experience in sustainable development, renewable and clean energy, and other “green” sector jobs that will set you apart as enter the burgeoning green economy.

President Barack Obama has laid out a comprehensive plan to chart a new energy future by embracing alternative and renewable energy, addressing the global climate crisis and creating millions of new jobs that can’t be shipped overseas. Yet while the president has promised five million “green” jobs over the next 10 years, and devoted $60 million of the recent stimulus package to investment in clean, renewable energy in the United States, the infrastructure for training workers for this new economy is undeveloped.
